Speeding driver was towing a car 10/6/14
Two Lewis men were fined over motoring offences after a trial at Stornoway Sheriff
Court
Richard Baker, 27, of Stoer View, Hill Street, North Tolsta, Lewis, was fined £300
and received six penalty points after he was found guilty of careless driving by
towing a vehicle at excessive speed at Back in Lewis.
Baker was found not guilty of permitting Jack Cox of driving the vehicle behind without
a Mot or letting him drive without insurance.
Jack Cox, of the same address, was found guilty of driving without a licence and
was fined £100. Sheriff David Sutherland imposed three points.
Cox was cleared of using an uninsured car, having no Mot and of using a car on a
public highway after it was declared off the road.
