Police on Lewis are encouraging motorcyclists to slow down following complaints from islanders.

Many riders are taking to the roads in the continuing spell of good weather.

Police are urging motorcyclists to ride in accordance with the road conditions.

Officers are doing speed checks to address the complaints and to promote road safety.

Speeding offences can result in a fixed penalty of £100 and three penalty points.

However, many speedsters face a court appearance with the possibility of a higher penalty being imposed.
