Cal Mac is dispatching ferries to Barra and South Uist with a load of delayed groceries, milk and foodstuffs.
The MV Lord of the Isles will make a special return trip to Castlebay and Lochboisdale on Saturday.
She departs Oban at 8.30am.
The ship will sail directly back to the mainland from South Uist.
Her Mallaig timetable is cancelled as a result.
The MV Clansman is due to take passengers and freight to Castlebay later on Saturday afternoon.
No departure time has been confirmed but it is likely to be between 4pm to 6pm.
Castlebay secondary and primary schools closed early on Friday due to the bad weather.
