Sirs,

I see that the local SNP are now trying to tell us that the NHS in Scotland is flourishing while in England it is under funded.

Last year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had surgery undertaken in Aberdeen using the latest computer guided keyhole equipment. I was walking around the ward the day after surgery, left hospital the next day, walked two miles the day after that and then flew home and stopped taking pain killers the next day. Great service all round by the NHS and I am now sorted without needing further treatment.

There is one machine of this type in Scotland, as confirmed by the Scottish Health Minister, but there were 40 of these incredible machines in England over a year ago! On a population basis, Scotland should have more than four by now.

Will Alasdair Allan or the local SNP explain why Scottish hospitals do not get state of the art equipment when English ones do?
