Western Isles SNP have officially opened their campaign hub in Stornoway as part of its bid to re-elect Alasdair Allan as MSP.

The Scottish Parliament dissolved on Wednesday with the election taking place on Thursday 5th May.

Alasdair Allan commented: “It was great to see so many people come along to our new campaign headquarters and get involved in the election.

“The campaign hub is going to be a busy place over the next few weeks as volunteers head out leafleting and canvassing in the run up to the poll.

"Although all the evidence from the polls shows the Scottish electorate trust the SNP far more than any other party, I am determined to fight for every vote and secure the re-election of Nicola Sturgeon as First Minister and an SNP Government with a track record of delivering for the Western Isles and Scotland.

"I hope that people will call in on the rooms, whether it’s to pick up a poster, ask a question or just to say hello."

Labour and Scottish Conservatives also intend to open campaign hubs in the town centre.
