A thief has been brought to justice two years
A thief has been brought to justice two years after failing to turn up in court for
sentencing.
Ann Sussock of Liverpool stole cash from a Stornoway hotel manager in 2009.
The 51-year-old booked into the Caladh Inn and and later snatched the wallet from
behind the manager’s desk.
She removed £95 and handed in the empty wallet pretending it was lost property she
had found.
Sussock appeared in Stornoway Sheriff Court some months later and pled guilty to
the theft.
But David Sutherland ordered her arrest after she did not appear for sentencing in
October 2010.
Now she has been traced and taken to the Stornoway court.
She was ordered to undertake 100 hours of unpaid community service work.
