A driver dozed off at the wheel and collided into a fence a court has been told.

Ealasaid Nicleòid, 22, admitted careless driving when her case called at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

Her lawyer said she was doing a favour for a friend who wanted to listen to the sounds of the sea at Barvas following an event at the nearby community centre.

She hadn't been drinking but was tired, the court heard.

Nicleòid, of Brue, Lewis, paid to repair the damaged fence.

She was fined £100 and received three penalty points.
