Police are urging people to be vigilant after skimming devices were found on cash
machines in Mallaig, the mainland port for the South Uist ferry.
ATMs at the Royal
Bank of Scotland and the Bank of Scotland were tampered with.
Skimming devices are designed to read bank card details without the knowledge of the cardholder.
We are asking members of the public pay close attention to see if there is anything
unusual or suspicious about cash machines.
Police asked anyone who used the machines
since 8am Friday to check their bank accounts and report any authorised activity.
