Another unusual sight for Dalmore visitors is an orange coloured helicopter parked outside a house in the tiny crofting village.

The chopper is on charter to Transocean for use in the salvage operations of the oil rig which grounded on the island.

The pilots are staying in accommodation in the village, which has an excellent view of the stricken rig - and park the aircraft in a patch of grass beside the driveway.

The helicopter has been ferrying supplies and food to the salvage engineers camped out on the rig.
