A fishing boat in difficulties in South Uist has been rescued.
The shellfish boat with two crew onboard lost engine power and was drifting towards rocks in Loch Boisdale.
A salmon farm vessel in the sea loch rescued the pair.
The stricken craft was towed to safety by a local boat.
Barra lifeboat was launched around 12.40pm but was stood down on voyage.
The Lochboisdale volunteer coastal team was also called in.
