A man who sexually abused a young boy in a Western Isles church building has been sentenced to two years in prison.

A trial at Glasgow High Court found Andrew Gilmour guilty of touching two boys on separate occasions in the early 1990s.

The court heard the 76-year-old - who denies the charges - was then a captain in the Boys Brigade in the city.

His victims aged between 11 and 15 years had joined his BB company.

The offences took place in Glasgow apart from one incident which the court was told occurred inside a church premises during a Boys' Brigade camp to the Western Isles.
