Islander placed on sex offenders register 17/2/13
A 25-year-old Stornoway man was placed on the sex offenders register for engaging
in sexual activity last May with a female then aged under 16 years.
Ronald Campbell of 38 Plantation Road, Stornoway, was convicted after trial at Stornoway
Sheriff Court last year and sentenced had been deferred for background reports.
However, despite being banned, under a bail order, from being near the girl while
awaiting trial, he was in her company at his own address on two occasions in November.
Campbell was also placed on a two year community payback order and banned from drinking
alcohol for 24 months.
