Severe injury

A man who committed a violent assault has to pay his victim £1,500.

Colin John Campbell was also fined £1000 when sentenced at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

The 25-year-old of Morrison Terrace, Tong, Lewis, pleaded guilty just as a jury trial was due to commence at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

Campbell caused his victim a severe injury after repeatedly punching him on the head during an incident in Stornoway’s North Beach Street on 14 August.
