A man has is receiving treatment to serious injuries after a quad bike crash in the
Uig district of Lewis.
The one-vehicle crash happened around 9.45pm last night (Thursday) on the single-track
road between Berie Farmhouse and the Reef junction.
Stornoway coastguard helicopter and local coastguard units attended at the scene.
The 45-year-old man was taken to Stornoway and later transferred by the coastguard
helicopter to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
The route remains closed.
Police Scotland said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of
the crash and the public is asked to avoid the area at this time.
