Senior Freshwater Operative

We are recruiting for a Senior Freshwater Operative at our Geocrab Hatchery. Under the direction of the Site Manager, the Senior Freshwater Operative will lead a small focused team in all the day to day hatchery operations, assume responsibility for fish husbandry, fish health, external contractors, boats and site equipment, in addition to deputising for the Site Manager in his absence.
Applicants must have extensive hatchery experience, proven freshwater husbandry skills and sound numeric and IT skills. The successful applicant must also be committed to maintaining high standards of health & safety and environmental management. A Full clean driving licence is essential. Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday plus weekend working and alarm call out duties on a rota basis. Due to the nature of Alarm Duty, applicants must live within a 20 minute drive of the Geocrab hatchery.
