Ferry in search for missing canoeists 21/4/14
The Stornoway ferry took part in a search for two missing canoeists on Monday morning.
The pair were in an open canoe which was swept away by strong winds in open water
at Cailleach Head, outside the approaches to Loch Broom.
The MV Isle of Lewis diverted south off course to help. Stornoway coastguard helicopter,
Lochinver lifeboat and nearby vessels joined in the search.
The canoeists were located blown ashore at Greenstone Point, some five miles to the
south west.
