Allan meets Scottish Water over burst pipes 22/2/12
SNP MSP Alasdair Allan, today met with Alan Thomson, Head of Corporate Relations at Scottish Water, to raise questions about the water supply in a number of areas of the Western Isles.
Alasdair Allan commented: “Although serious investment has been made by Scottish Water recently throughout the islands there remain a number of areas where there have been problems, and where I have been in touch with the people affected.
“These include the Callanish area where Scottish Water has undertaken to address
on-
“One of the biggest problems in recent months affected large areas of North Uist, where many houses were without water, particularly on the westside of the island, for some time.
“Scottish Water has agreed to look at interim solutions in these areas, but accept that major investment is needed to upgrade the islands water supply. Today’s meeting was a chance to highlight these issues facing islanders and I will be keeping in contact with Scottish Water about these.”
