The equivalent of one community land buyout a month is being staged by cash from the Scottish Land Fund, said the Scottish Government.
Over 45,000 people in 32 communities are benefiting from land bought with its help.
Since June 2012, total funding of over £6.5 million capital and £850,000 revenue
has been awarded -
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: “These figures show this government’s land reform agenda is helping communities in tackling inequalities.”
Ms Sturgeon said: “That’s why I’m pleased we’ve committed to £10 million a year from 2016 to help more communities purchase land.”
She added: “When land is locally owned and managed for the good of the community, people reap the benefits.”
The Scottish Land Fund has £9 million over four years up to 2016 to assist communities in rural Scotland to buy and develop local land and land assets.
