Scots capable of running Scotland 27/4/14
Sirs,
To Angus McCormack re Letter: Scottish Government ignoring island poverty.
I totally respect your views regarding the way forward for Scotland but I must disagree with your opinion that we are not capable as a nation to control our own destiny.
Contrary to your views, I am of the opinion than my countrymen and women are quite capable of governing our own country and whatever problems the Westminster government throw at us, I am sure we can deal with.
The problem with our elected Members of Parliament under the present constitution is that their primary ambition is to plonk their backsides in the House of Lords regardless of what their constituents think.
The only exception being Angus Brendan MacNeil -
Over the years we have had umpteen Members of Parliament whose only aim in life is the Ermine Robe. They will do anything to guarantee that this is the end result so that they are guaranteed their £300 a day for life.
If Westminster was so great in its belief that Scotland were "subsidy junkies" I do not think they would be so desperate for us to remain part of this disjointed so called United Kingdom.
Mr McCormack, If you are happy to be governed by multi-
please do not blame the Scottish Government when your block grant is cut by the sum of £4 billion as is presently being promised should it be a No vote.
