Shona Macleod and Rona MacDonald

 

Charles Macleod Butchers in Stornoway scooped two awards at the Scotch Pie awards ceremony in Glasgow.

 

The island butchers picked up a silver award for their Italian Pies and a bronze award their Cow Pies, beating of stiff competition from across the country.

Island success at the World Scotch Pie Championships

Run by the Scotch Pie Club, the World Scotch Pie Championships attracted 525 entries from 100 butchers and bakers across Scotland in its 15th year.

 

Shona Macleod and Rona MacDonald, Directors of Charles Macleod Butchers were delighted to be collecting their awards at today’s ceremony.

 

Shona said: “I am particularly proud of the Italian Pie recipe we have developed at Charles Macleod’s.

 

“They are really popular with our customers and today’s silver award is great recognition for all our hard work.

 

“We really enjoyed the awards ceremony and are delighted to be taking a silver and bronze award back to Lewis.

 

We have come away with lots of ideas and are looking forward to next year’s competition.”
