Lewis Independent Christian School (LICS) is holding an open day on Tuesday.

The event, from 9.30am until 12.30pm, is for people interested in the work of the school and parents considering the option of their children to the school.

The school, which is independent and has been running for over 15 years, is not fee-paying and is funded directly by the donations of friends.

A spokesman said it sought to provide education for children of primary age from a biblical, God-centred basis.

He added: "LICS offers more that just a Christian ethos. What makes it really  distinctive is that it openly seeks to weave a biblical world-view through the whole of the curriculum. Anyone who wants such an education for their children should really consider making use of the school."
