Santa themed runners are taking part in a festive event today (Saturday).
The Santa Dash fun run is hosted by ClubSport Lewis and Harris in partnership with
the Isle of Lewis Committee of Cancer Research UK.
A new family route suitable for all ages and abilities has been introduced this year.
Participants should assemble outside the Lewis Sports Centre ahead of the 3pm set-off
time.
Runners follow a series of right turns along a circular route to the finishing line.
Staying on the pavement, entrants go from the sports centre along the front of the
Nicolson Institute. Then it’s a right turn up Matheson Road to the High Church, followed
by a gentler incline up Goathill Road and down Smith Avenue passing the all-weather
pitch, cutting across the school access road and onto the running track where arrows
will guide runners to the end.
Primary aged children must be accompanied with an over-18.
The event is buggy friendly so all the family can enter.
Santa suits are available from the sports centre Lewis Sports Centre - £5 for adults
and £3 for children. Santa hats are £1.
