The crew of Barra lifeboat assisted yacht stuck on a reef on Friday.

The Rebel - with two people onboard - grounded at the mouth of Loch Skipport, South Uist as the tide was going out.

The RNLI lifeboat arrived at the scene at 10.15pm Thursday and stood-by until the tide came back in in the early hours of Friday.

The lifeboat’s inflatable tender boat was used to tow the yacht off on the flood tide at 3.45am.

Barra lifeboat towed the craft to Lochboisdale harbour for repairs to a damaged rudder.
