Sir,

In the run up to polling day, the Labour Party tell us it is time for a change locally. They are unable to provide a reason for change. Their justification is somewhat childish. Is rearranging the letters SNP a good reason? Or is trying to link the SNP leader to the Hillsborough disaster to be taken seriously?

We can remember the previous (Labour) incumbent who failed constantly to represent these islands. We have the current Labour candidate telling us she will fix the ferry transport issues. As a list MSP for these islands she had an opportunity to address the issues at the time, why didn't it happen then. Then again, she won't be able to control the weather.

The only people who have an issue with Alasdair Allan's performance is the Labour Party. When it came to building new schools it was left to the SNP Government. Labour done their usual and only talked about it. The SNP had to find the finance.

Remember the Labour cry of "something for nothing culture must end," as they proposed to bring back prescription charges, education fees, scrap free care for the elderly and bus passes. They might tell us they have changed their minds on this, then again, how many U-turns have done in the last few months.

The only way to safeguard the future of our islands and the future of our children is to re-elect Alasdair Allan by voting SNP in the constituency and list ballot papers.
