A Royal Navy bomb squad has blown up a military flare found in Benbecula.
The ordnance was originally discovered on the shore at the North Ford causeway, between Grimsay and Benbecula.
The finder took the phosphorous flare -
A police officer guarded the area overnight .
Ordnance experts from Faslane arrived on Sunday and undertook a controlled explosion of the device.
