Donnie Macdonald was banned from driving for five years. He receives six penalty points on his licence and was also sentenced to 100 hours of supervised work.
Macdonald of Lochview, Garenin, pleaded guilty to driving with a alcohol count of 265mg against the legal maximum of 80mg.
He also admitted driving without due care and attention when he failed to drive around the roundabout on Macaulay Road, Stornoway, and careered into its centre on 26th March..
Lawyer Kevin Macpherspon said he recalled nothing about it and had been drinking on the two days running up to the incident.
He did not hold a licence and had previously surreneded it on medical grounds
