A man who caused a disturbance and went on a vandalism spree inside a Benbecula house has been remanded in custody.

David Robert Macdonald, 23, pleaded guilty to smashing crockery and ornaments at an address in Rarnish when he appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court on Monday.

He also damaged kitchen worktops by striking them with a rolling pin as well as breaking apart a wooden coffee table during the incident on Friday.

Macdonald committed the offence while on bail from Lochmaddy Sheriff Court.

He is due to appear in court on other matters in November and he sentenced was deferred until then for background reports.
