Road workers will be tarring routes in Uist and Benbecula this month.
Road surface dressing will start in Berneray on Monday.
Other roads in North Uist, Benbecula and South Uist will be treated over the coming three weeks.
Operations will move to Harris and Lewis around the 25th May for up to five weeks. Roads being treated include A859 Harris west side, South Lochs, North Lochs, Bernera and Point.
Motorists are warned of delays and asked to comply with posted temporary speed limits, signage and any traffic management throughout the work sites.
The Comhairle said it apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused.
Works are weather dependent and operations may be suspended in adverse conditions.
