Retail Assistant
Part time (3 days per week)
Competitive Hourly Rate plus commission
Due to continued expansion of our businesses and in particular the growth of our made to measure blinds and curtains business we are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, conscientious and hardworking person to work at our Carpet World shop in Stornoway.
Do you like working with the public? Then this vacancy might be just be perfect for you.
You will be based in the shop environment working on a one to one basis with your customers, offering first class professional advice and customer service, helping to achieve maximum sales at all times. You will however be required to visit customers homes around the island to measure areas and windows so you can provide accurate quotations so I full driving licence is essential.
You will be required to move carpets, samples and rugs around the shop and assist with loading and unloading delivery vans on a regular basis.
Administrative tasks will be required such as quotations, invoices, delivery notes and ordering as well as emailing and contacting customers by phone arranging convenient delivery, measuring and fitting dates.
A knowledge of retail would be advantageous however not essential as full training would be available on site.
We are open Monday to Saturday so you will be required to work some Saturdays.
