An island man faces trial after he denied breaking a restraining order.

In 2013, an anti-harassment order was imposed on Calum Macrury, legally banning him from going near a named woman.

The 50-year-old of 19 Columbia Place, Balivanich, is accused of approaching her in an Uist hotel.

It is alleged he also pointed a smart phone towards her as if he was taking photos of her.

Macrury pleaded not guilty when he appeared from custody in Stornoway Sheriff Court today.

Trial was set for a later date.
