A Stornoway woman who caused a disturbance in the Western Isles hospital has appeared in court.

Angela Brogan of Doig Crescent, Stornoway, hindered an emergency nurse practitioner and refused to vacate a hospital bed and get out of a treatment room in the accident and emergency department on 8 February, the court heard.

The previous day, the 53-year-old made a series of unnecessary phone calls to the ambulance service, the court was told.

Brogan who previously pleaded guilty to the charges was placed on an alcohol treatment and testing programme for the next two years.
