Staff at the Mackinnon’s Bakery shop in Stornoway town centre have been issued with redundancy notices.
However, despite rumours that the business will shut its doors for good in early July, there has been no final decision over its future.
No announcement has been made and it has not been decided what to do with the shop it has been confirmed to Hebrides News.
Staff which includes three full time workers were given six weeks notice.
Mackinnon's production bakery and its retail operation in Plasterfield are not affected.
