A “quirky” house on Lewis has won a prize for its unique design.
Porteous Architecture was presented the Saltire Housing Award for the best individual house.
Husband and wife team, Duncan and Fiona Porteous, took inspiration of the traditional airidh or sheiling when creating converted a disused mission hall in Achmore into a striking home.
Duncan Porteous said: “It's quite a big deal for us as a small island architect to win an award like this when we're up against some top competition from the rest of Scotland.”
Two Skye firms, Dualchas Architects and Rural Desig won commendations for their designs of single dwellings.
