The MS Queen Elizabeth ocean liner has arrived on her maiden call into Stornoway.

The 16-deck cruiseliner anchored at the back of Arnish at 5am on Wednesday.

Hundreds of passengers are being transferred to shore by the ship's launches and are heading off on sightseeing coach tours around Lewis and Harris.

Numerous others are walking around the castle grounds and shopping for gifts in Stornoway town centre.

MS Queen Elizabeth can carry over 2,000 passengers and has a crew of 900.

The 90,400 gross tonne vessel cost £350 million to build in 2010.
