Princess Anne will officially open the new Carloway Shop and the neighbouring community centre tomorrow morning (Thursday).

The Princess Royal is spending much of the day in Lewis undertaking a busy itinerary.

Her schedule includes a visit to the Ishga seaweed company at Gleann Seileach Business Park in Stornoway in the early afternoon.

Later, the Princess Royal will formally open the new Aros an Rubha community hub facility in Point, her first visit to that district since 1953.

She will also visit Bethesda Care Home and Hospice, the facility she officially opened in 1992, some 32 years ago.

For security reasons, all these premises will be temporary closed to the public ahead off and during her visit.

The Carloway Community Shop will be closed on Thursday morning. Normal service resumes at 12.15pm.

The Aros An Rubha hub including the shop and parking areas will be shut between 12pm and 3pm on the day.

Bethesda Care Home and Hospice will be closed to all visitors from noon to 4pm.
