Princess Anne is making a flying visit to Stornoway on Monday.

In her capacity as UHI chancellor, the Princess Royal will visit nursing students at the Western Isles Hospital campus to mark the university’s take over of the pre-registration nurse education programme.

The degree course in mental health nursing and adult nursing was previously delivered by Stirling University.

Princess Anne will also meet nursing students on a tour of the Centre For Health Science in Inverness

This is the second time in two months she has visited Lewis. In August the princess officially opened a major £2.4 million extension to the Shawbost mill.

The 67-year-old is the busiest royal and often carries out more than 500 engagements a year.
