Precenting and storytelling winners            16/10/14

 

Island talents also shone at this year’s Mod through precenting, storytelling and poetry recitals.

 

Precenting a Psalm Open U13 was won by Bun-sgoil Lionail’s Gemma MacRitchie who was awarded the Jonathon MacDonald, Kilmuir, Trophy, while Samuel MacAoidh from The Nicolson took the bronze badge.

 

And in Precenting a Psalm Open U19 first place and The Allan C MacLeod Memorial Trophy went to Rebekah MacLeod from Sir E Scott. Fellow Sir E Scott pupil Emma MacLeod took the silver badge, while third was Isabelle Bain from The Nicolson.

 

Poetry Recitation Fluent 7-8 was won by Amy MacRitchie from Bun-sgoil Lionail; Poetry Recitation Fluent 9-10 won by Alison M Graham from Sgoil a’Bhac; and in the 13-15 Poetry competition Nicolson pupil Annie Margaret MacLennan came in second place and Gillian MacLean third.

 

The gold badge for Story Telling Fluent 11-12 went to Sgoil Lionacleit’s Marion MacCorquodale, who also took the silver badge in the Ancient Folk Tale Fluent 9-10 competition.

 

And in Ancient Folk Tale Fluent 13-15, Nicolson Institute pupils and brother and sister Catriona Bain won gold and John Alasdair Bain took silver.
