Hydro engineers have been battling against heavy rain and wild weather winds to try and repair powercuts.
Scottish Hydro drafted in extra staff and equipment to help tackle a major workload in getting people reconnected.
Many villages in Barra, including Castlebay, lost supplies earlier today. Most were reconnected later though properties around Borve and Craigston are still cut off.
Lochmaddy and nearby districts went off around 6pm
Houses on the Lochs Road, outside Stornoway, were also affected
In Benbecula, many homes in Balivanich, Creagorry, Liniclate, Torlum, Hacklett and Uachdar are without power tonight.
West Harris is also in darkness with engineers working since around 3.30pm to reconnect people living in Seilebost, Scarista, and Leverburgh.
