Malcolm Burr, Returning Officer for the Na h-Eileanan an Iar UK Parliamentary Constituency is reminding voters what they need to know to have their say on polling day.

 

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday.

 

Details of island polling stations can be found on the council’s website.

 

The polling station for Tarbert will be in the council offices, West Tarbert.

 

It is helpful for people to take their poll card with them although it is not require to vote.

 

Electors may wish to consider avoiding peak times and attend at quiet periods such as mid-morning or mid-afternoon.

 

Polling station staff will give voters their ballot paper and answer any questions people have regarding the voting process.

 

For this election people vote for one candidate only by putting a cross (X) in the box next to their choice.

 

Postal votes must be returned by 10pm on Thursday. If its too late to post, it can be dropped in at any polling station in the Western Isles or at the Election Office in the council building in Stornoway.
