Stornoway-based police officers have been carrying out speed checks in the Bridge
Cottages, Macaulay Road and Lochs Road areas.
Three fixed penalty tickets have been issued for speeding and a fourth for unsafe carriage of passengers.
Four other motorists have been reported to the procurator fiscal for speeding and other road traffic offences.
An anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) warning was issued in relation to the manner
of driving in the Newmarket area.
Meanwhile, a 61-year-old female was traced by police in the Westside area of Lewis
on Wednesday. She has been charged with driving whilst under the influence of alcohol
and is due to appear at Stornoway Sheriff Court at a later date.
