Western Isles Police are appealing for information after a car in the Cearns area of Stornoway was vandalised.

A grey Vauxhall Astra was parked in the Cearn Shulaisgeir car park - between Cearn Shulaisgeir and Cearn Shiaraim - when the damage was inflicted at some point between the afternoon of Tuesday 26th November and 7am the following morning.

Both wing mirrors were smashed and dents made to the boot panel.

“This was done with the intention of causing damage to this vehicle and we are looking to find the person who is responsible,” say police.

People in the area are asked to report any suspicious activity spotted at the time and to check doorbell cameras, dashcam or private CCTV systems.

Anyone who may have any information that would assist in the investigation is asked to make contact on 101, via the Contact Us portal on the Police Scotland Website, or anonymously on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting the crime reference number CR/0451418/24.
