Police officers are patrolling around Stornoway on bicycles as part of a new initiative.
Tutors from the police college delivered bicycle training to a team of island officers.
Many are now qualified as cycle patrol officers, enabling them to safely use police bicycles on and off road.
A spokesperson said islanders are "responding enthusiastically" to the officers on patrol.
"Cycle patrol officers provide another high visibility tactical response option and means to patrol local communities.
"Officers can also provide education and security advice to the cycling community and local community groups."
