Man sentenced for police assault 18/2/14
Andrej Ostowski of 8 Mackay Court, Stornoway, was sentenced to 150 hours of unpaid
community service work at Stornoway Sheriff Court.
The 29-year-old was convicted of assaulting a police officer by attempting to head
butt him in the face and push him on the chest.
He was also convicted of struggling violently with two police officers and resisting
arrest.
Ostowski was found guilty after trial.
The offences occurred after his vehicle was stopped by police on Keith Street, Stornoway,
on 26 July.
