Planning system faces revamp

The Scottish Government has launched a pubic consultation in advance of reforming the planning system.
An independent panel has been tasked with bringing together ideas to achieve a quicker, more accessible and efficient planning process in Scotland.
Social Justice Secretary Alex Neil, said: “I would urge all organisations and individuals who are involved with the planning system in any way to get in touch and use this opportunity to help shape the future of the planning system in Scotland.
“The panel are inviting you to play a positive role in the review process, and ensure views are heard.”
Key issues being reviewed include development planning, housing delivery and planning for infrastructure as well as community engagement.
The review panel is due to report back in the spring.
