Public information events regarding plans to operate two separate ferry routes between Skye and the Western Isles are taking place this week.
MV Claymore and MV Lochmor -
This will see the each of the island communities receive their own dedicated ferry over the summer.

separate routes -
Updates on the infrastructure works across the three ports and the latest progress of the new vessels under construction will be provided at the events.
CalMac will outline proposed deployment and timetabling planning for the routes which aims to achieve an improvement over the present arrangements.
Both vessels which are on course to be handed over towards the second half of next year. The ferries will then steam to Scotland and undergo crew familiarisation and local operational trials before entering service.
Arrangements are expected to revert to a combined service with a single vessel operation during the quieter winter months.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, Lochmaddy Hall is the venue at the same times, weather and ferries permitting.
The Little Minch vessels are two of six new major vessels set to join the CalMac ferry fleet by the end of next year.
The other four will be Islay vessels, MV Isle of Islay and MV Loch Indaal, plus Arran vessels MV Glen Sannox and MV Glen Rosa.
