Allan promotes literary trail in islands     12/2/13

SNP MSP Alasdair Allan, has written to Visit Scotland to ask them what can be done to promote the Western Isles as a venue following the success of Peter May’s ‘Lewis Trilogy’ novels.

Alasdair Allan commented: “Peter May’s novels, set in the Western Isles, have reached an enormous audience and many readers are fascinated by the very detailed descriptions of places from Eriskay to Ness.

“It is clear that there is significant interest amongst many readers in finding out more about the islands. I have contacted Visit Scotland to ask them what more can be done to integrate information about the places mentioned in the book into promotional material about the islands as a tourist destination.

“I look forward to sharing idea with Visit Scotland and others about the best way to achieve this.”
