Pedestrian in fatal car collision is named            22/9/14

 

A man who died after being hit by a car has been named locally as John MacLachlan from Bualadubh, Iochdar, in the north end of South Uist.

 

The former satellite TV and electronics engineer was walking through the village of Creagorry in the neighbouring island of Benbecula when the collision occurred on on Thursday evening.

 

He later died from his injuries in hospital.

 

Traffic was diverted Haclet and Lionaclete as police investigators examined the scene.

Mr MacLachlan who was around 54 years of age was married with a grown up family.
