A park-and-ride scheme is to be tested out in Stornoway this Christmas.

Councillors agreed to fund a trial over four Saturdays - expected to be from the last November weekend up to Christmas.

Under the scheme, motorists can park their car on the outskirts of the town and hop on a special bus to the shops.

Poor marketing was blamed for the failure of a similar scheme tried out several years ago.
