Overnight sailing after weather delays ferry         9/2/13

A delay ferry means passengers for Castlebay and Lochboisdale will not arrive home until the small hours of Monday.

Bad weather prevented the MV Lord of the Isles from sailing on time today. She was about five hours late in leaving the islands creating a knock-on delay to her Sunday outward voyage from Oban.

The ship is due to dock in Barra around 1.30am and will not reach South Uist until 3.40am.

Changes to her Monday timetable means she depart the islands’ ports as timetabled but be fifty minutes late in arriving in Oban. The hold up means she will be running behind schedule for the rest of the day.
