Out-of-control bonfire spread over garden and croft 24/7/14
Starting a bonfire which spread over a croft and onto the next door neighbour’s garden
landed a man in hot water.
David Macmillan, 58, whose address was given as 25 Montague Street, London, admitted
recklessly setting fire to branches and garden refuse at 22 Druim Tong.
The flames soon spread and destroyed grass and vegetation on adjacent land in March,
Stornoway Sherrif Court was told.
Macmillan - who committed the offence while on bail from October - was fined £200.
